"A Sunflower Under a Blue Sky" for Solo Piano
"Little Sunflowers Under the Dark Sky" for Solo Piano
Composer Awards
"Man-ge-kyou" (万華鏡)for Solo Pianoは、

Three piano pieces scheduled for release in December.
It seems like they'll be unveiled early!?
I can't wait to hear them performed.
All three pieces are works for children.
I wrote the "Sunflower" series with the hope that
it would encourage children to think about war.
"A Sunflower Under a Blue Sky" for Solo Piano
won second place in a competition.
"Little Sunflowers Under the Dark Sky" for Solo Piano
was selected as a required piece for the elementary
and junior high school division of the New Heaven Piano Competition held this May,
and won the Composer Award.
Both pieces have been performed by talented young men
in Mexico and the United States.
"Man-ge-kyou" (Kaleidoscope) for Solo Piano
was submitted to a Japanese competition but was rejected. ![]()
It seems like Japanese competitions don't suit me well...
But I like the interesting pieces I've written,
so I decided to have them recorded.
Japanese-style pieces aren't well-received in Japan! ?
