"A Star Stolen from the Night Sky"
2021,2022年に続き今年2024年で３回目、
Jazz New Music Reading Sessionで選んでいただき、
4曲目となります。
Sax Quertet作品をOfficialに演奏していただいたのを含めて、
ジャズだけでなく、Contemporary Clasiccも含む
5曲のオリジナル作品を、
この大きなThe Midwest Clinicという音楽教育学会で
演奏されることは大変名誉なことで、
感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。
出版社のTUX People's Musicには
心の底から感謝の気持ちです。
自分の書いた作品を他者に、
それもアメリカの全く知らない人々に演奏してもらうなんて、
「一体何が起こっているのだろう？」
という奇跡？の状態です。
音楽は言葉を超え、国境を超えて、伝わるものだと心から
音の持つエネルギーを感じます。
特に作曲をはじめ、楽譜を出版する機会を得てから、
ただ個人的な思いが楽譜という形になり、
楽譜になったことで聞いてもらう機会が増え、
出版したところとは異なる出版社JW Pepperの
Editors' Choiceに選ばれ
さらに知ってもらい、
さらにThe Midwest Clinicという
全米最大の音楽教育学会で取り上げてもらい、
シカゴの大きな会場で演奏されるなんて。
この曲を作曲した時に、一体誰がこのような展開が待っていると
想像できたでしょうか？
曲たちは私の手から離れて、歩き出しています。
そしてもう一つ嬉しいのは、
作曲家の仲間がいることです。
彼・彼女らが素敵な作品を発表していることで、
刺激になり作曲のモチベーションにも大きな影響を
与えてくれています。
作曲とは孤独な作業。
でも頑張って作品を書いている仲間が
（私より若い優秀な作曲家達）いることは、
いつの頃からか大き励みになっています。
おばさん、もういっちょ頑張るか！

**2024 Midwest Performances!**
My jazz ensemble piece has once again been selected this year.
It will be performed in Chicago!
For the third time since 2021 and 2022,
my work was chosen for the Jazz New Music Reading Session,
making this my fourth piece to be included.
Including a saxophone quartet piece performed officially,
this will mark the fifth original work of mine
—covering both jazz and contemporary classical music—
to be played at The Midwest Clinic, an esteemed music education conference.
I am immensely grateful for this honor
and to TUX People’s Music for their support from the bottom of my heart.
It’s a surreal feeling to have my compositions performed by others, especially by audiences of unfamiliar people across America. It makes me wonder,
“What exactly is happening here?” It feels almost miraculous.
Music transcends words and borders,
and I can truly feel the energy that sound possesses.
Since I began composing and publishing my works,
personal sentiments have taken form in sheet music,
giving more people a chance to listen.
Being selected as an Editor’s Choice by JW Pepper,
a publisher different from my own,
has helped my works reach even further audiences.
Now, my piece is being featured at The Midwest Clinic,
the largest music education conference in the U.S.,
to be performed at a grand venue in Chicago.
When I wrote this piece, who could have imagined such an incredible journey for it?
The compositions have now left my hands and are moving forward on their own.
Another joy for me is having fellow composers by my side.
Seeing them work hard to showcase their works is inspiring
and greatly influences my motivation to compose.
Composition is a solitary endeavor,
but knowing there are others
(often young and talented composers)
putting their best effort into their music has become a significant encouragement.
I guess this "older woman" will keep working hard!
