I am sorry I have taken so long to answer your email. I am also sorry that we did not get to meet Daichi on his recent visit. Peter's mother became very ill and had to be taken to hospital and we were very busy looking after her, and are still. She is 104 years old next month and needs a lot of attention. She is in a nursing home, but when Daichi was here we had to take her to hospital. She is back in the nursing home now.
I hope Daichi had a wonderful visit and saw lots of things to make him love Australia, and next time we hope to be able to see him. Peter was able to speak to him for a few minutes so that was very pleasing for him. He spoke to Daichi's hosts and they said what a delightful young man Daichi was and that you should be very proud of him.
We also loved to see you and Ayaka on the email - what a wonderful way to teach people a new language. I hope that system works very well for you. Ayaka looks really lovely and I can see a lot of you in her - is she as lovely as you were at this age??
It was so nice to hear your voice on the telephone and also your Mother - I recognised her voice instantly.
