Michael Jackson died at age 50, Thursday, the 25th of June.
The news came as a shock to the whole world, especially to those who grew up with Michael Jackson and his music, and certainly to me myself.
Since his death, hardly a day has passed without seeing his photos and video footage on TV. People around the world gather and mourn the death of the King of Pop and one of the greatest music icons of our time.
For sure, his personal life was a mess. It became tabloid headlines; marriages and divorces, obsession with plastic surgery, court cases, money problems and more. But for now, I want to allow myself to remember how wonderful he was, how fabulous, how gorgeous, how charming he was. Just let us remember the contributions and achievements he made. As many point out, Michael Jackson was the first black artist to find stardom on MTV. And as MTV points out, he made music video an event for a global audience to long for. And let us remember how great an artist he was, along with those timeless numbers including "Thriller", "Beat It", "Billie Jean" , "Black or White" and "Heal the world".
Michael, we thank you, we love you, we miss you, and may God bless your soul for all eternity.
