The goal is $740,000. Schulte said turf bids were opened March 14, with the cost coming to $650,400 a combination of the lowest turf bid and the lowest excavation bid.
He said the stadium project which is being organized by the Copley Stadium Project Committee, part of the nonprofit CopleyFairlawn Schools Foundation began Nike Mercurial Vapor IX For Sale with a group of volunteers from the Copley Athletic Boosters and the Copley Band Boosters clubs, as well as other interested parties in the communities, who split into two committees: one to raise funds and another to choose the turf. Schulte fundraising committee targeted several groups of people who would have a keen interest in the project success: alumni, current students, student athletes and their families, youth organizations, the business community and adult volunteer organizations.He also hoped onesixth of the funds would come from Copley and Fairlawn residents.piece of the puzzle that has been missing is that some people still don know about the project, Schulte said.To raise awareness, the group will advertise the project on the Copley Circle marquis and with a temporary sign at the high school.To encourage donations, Schulte said volunteers also are selling the naming rights for the stadium, scoreboard and other elements to raise money for the project.someone makes a sizable donation and wants their name on something, we would welcome that, he said. would have to take it to the [CopleyFairlawn City Schools Board of ] for their approval. CopleyFairlawn school board will wait until all the money is in place before approving the plan, according to its president, Sue Emich.the goal is met, we will be presented the bids for our consideration, she said. are hoping that the goal can be met very soon. lowest bids came from FieldTurf Inc., of Montreal, at $360,000 for turf installation, and Specialized Construction Co., of Cleveland, at $290,400 for excavation and surface preparation.Forchione said FieldTurf (an artificial turf playing surface identified by the FieldTurf trademark) is in place at The Ohio State University and at Fawcett Stadium in Canton.
