TSUTAYAのCCC、HMVの事業買収を断念
TSUTAYAを運営するカルチュア・コンビニエンス・クラブ（CCC）は6月30日、音楽映像ソフト小売店・HMVを展開するHMVジャパンとの事業取得交渉を見送ったと発表した。同社は今年3月よりHMVジャパン、HMVジャパンの株主である大和証券SMBCプリンシパル・インベストメンツの3社で交渉を開始していた。
CCC社はHMVのブランド力や国内トップクラスのインターネット通販事業を評価し、独占的交渉権を得る基本合意書を3月25日に締結。6月末に最終契約を締結する予定だった。同社は「事業展開の方針や各種条件等について関係当事者間で協議を続けてきたが、最終合意には至らなかった」としている。
HMVジャパンは今年に入りいくつかの店舗を閉鎖しているほか、8月中旬には国内第1号店誕生の地・渋谷にある旗艦店「HMV渋谷」も閉店する。
