An interesting story for an interesting piece... An interesting story for an interesting piece of Boro & Kofu (Japanese Vintage Fabric). We clearn the rice chaff from the fabric. The Japanese used to put rice chaff for the dehumidifyier purpose. It is difficult to find out "how old" the vintage fabric is. However, by cleaning rice chaff, we see that the fabric old enough. 古布の中に入り込んでしまっている籾殻を取り出す作業。昔、乾燥剤として使われていた籾殻。 手間はかかりますが、この籾殻があるということは、古布であるという、ある意味証拠で。 #Sashiko #Sashico #Boro #古布 #KOFU #JapaneseVintageFabric #OldFabric #Quilting #Patchworking #刺し子 #JapaneseTraditional #襤褸 #襤褸アート #KeikoFutatsuya A post shared by Keiko & Atsushi Futatsuya (@sashi.co) on Dec 19, 2017 at 2:44am PST
A rare photo from Keiko, a process of mending... A rare photo from Keiko, a process of mending the Boro. We spend so much time on this kind of fabric, and then make a beautiful Boro art. 襤褸の直しの経過写真。 好きになる前はゴミにしかみえないのだけど、好きになると宝ものになる不思議。 #Sashiko #Sashico #Boro #古布 #KOFU #JapaneseVintageFabric #OldFabric #Quilting #Patchworking #刺し子 #JapaneseTraditional #襤褸 #襤褸アート #KeikoFutatsuya A post shared by Keiko & Atsushi Futatsuya (@sashi.co) on Dec 18, 2017 at 12:47am PST
