先週末にアトランタで開催された米ケーブルTV局BET(Black Entertainment Television)主催の「BET Hip Hop Award」。BETといえば、僕が生まれるよりも前の1980年にアメリカで開局したブラック・カルチャー専門チャンネルで、R&B、Hip Hopミュージックを音楽シーンのメインストリームに導いた陰の主役と言われてます。専門チャンネルで、30年も続いているということは凄いですね。
それでは、番組オンエアー後の12日以降にオフィシャルサイトにて全ての受賞者情報が掲載されるかと思いますが、分かっている範囲をピックアップ。
今年のは、Nicki Minajfが大活躍。アルバムデビューも果たしていないのに、新人賞(Rookie of the Year)、ファッション賞(Made You Look Style Award)、ファン投票首位(Favorite by Fans)の3部門受賞は快挙。
