体育の日って、昔の東京オリンピックの開催記念に始まったんだって～

日本人なのに、知らなかった(汗)


This Sports Day was being set on the 2nd Monday in Oct to commemorate Tokyo Olympic which was being held in 1964. Its one of the national holidays in Japan.

I didn't know all these till I looked up the wiki.

we divide into red and white to compete with each other at sports festival.

this tradition comes from way back in 1183.
2 enemies ﾞGenji and Heikeﾞ was wearing red and white.

I heard it from somewhere.
