Coaching and Mentoring have slight differneces, both in delivery and the amount of advice given. Coaching is prodominately client led and future focused, with both the coach and coachee operating as equals at the same level. In Mentoring, there is the chance that the Mentor has already walked the path of the Mentee, meaning there is likely to be a slight difference in position with the Mentor being a Senior.

Mentoring is more common in business and is more career focused overall, however coaching is becoming increasingly useful within organisations. Functional Coaching is a high level method of increasing productivity through employee engagement and wellbeing, and as it targets 6 facets of your employees development, this methodology has become increasing popular in forward thinking businesses.
