Finally!

Earlier this week, my boyfriend and I bought plane tickets to visit Japan in October.

I am reeeeaaaaaallly excited! So far, I have only been to two countries: the United States and Canada.
This really isn't special; it is maybe a 4 hour drive from Seattle to Vancouver B.C. 

So, this will not only be my first visit to Japan, but also my first time traveling overseas.

I still have to buy a rail pass, but I have 5 months to do that.

One thing that I don't like about visiting Japan... is that I have to plan everything ahead!
At home, I like to just wander around and explore. 
But since I do not have any friends in Japan that I can stay with, I have to book hostel rooms in advance.
So, I have to stick with an itinerary. I can do it, but I tend to be more relaxed.

So far, I have only booked a hostel in Takayama for the Takayama Autumn Festival. 
I am really excited to see it, we will be staying near the old town and close to the morning market. 

I also want to stay in Tokyo for a few days to explore, as well as visit Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Hiroshima.
My boyfriend is also excited, but he doesn't know much about Japan, so I am mostly planning this trip.
So far the only things he has said he wants to do are go indoor snowboarding, do karaoke in Tokyo, go to the Takayama Aki Matsuri, and stay at a ryokan.
But, he will plan everything when we go to South America, he knows lots about that :)

Another thing that I am worried about on my trip to Japan...
I am not confident in my Japanese ability. 
I can ask questions and have simple conversations, but I want to be able to interact more.
I hope to make friends on this trip that I could visit again in the future.

So, I have been studying grammar, listening to NHK News and Tokyo FM podcasts... I don't want to get lost!

Anyway, soon I will try to regularly write posts in Japanese as I progress (at least, I want to).

自分自身への誕生日プレゼント

土曜日には、「本当に日本に行きたい。。。日本語は練習したい」思った。

そうして、飛行機の切符を探した。飛行機の切符は　＄８００（８万円）ごろ。安い！

今、金曜日に飛行機の切符を買う！！！うれしいいいいぃぃぃぃぃぃ！

１０月に彼と日本に行くで、私の誕生日から。１４日間に見物する。

東京
長野
富士山
京都
大阪
奈良
広島

もっと見たい（北海道、本州北部）、でも時間がない　：（

新幹線パスを買う。そうして、長野の温泉行く！東京でカラオケをする！わぁぁ　本当うれしい！

。。。ごめんね、私の日本語がよくないでも、がんばる！
