「どの人の人生も本当に大切で面白くて意味がある。」
頭では分かっていても、それを体験として実感できている人って、どれだけいるでしょうか。
私の生きてきた道は価値がないけど、周りの人はすごい、価値があるって思ったり。逆に、自分の人生は素晴らしいけど、知らない人の人生はないようなものと感じていたり。
でも、もしもっと多くの人が、どの人の人生も面白い、価値がある、大切って思えたら、この世界はもうほんのちょこっと良い方へ進んでいくかもしれません。
そんな理想を実現する一つの方法が、「○○博物館」プロジェクト。
色々な人の物語を保存、展示するプロジェクトです。
このプロジェクトは、誰かが誰かの今までの人生を聞いて、それを文章にまとめて、オーディエンスに発表していくもの。
オーラルヒストリー、ライフヒストリー、インタビュー、ストーリーテリングなどの要素が入っていると思ってもらえたらいいかもしれません。
このプロジェクトのポイントは、語り手だけではなく、聞き手/書き手も重要な役割を持つこと。語り手の物語は、語り手が語ったものをそのまま書き下したものではありません。語り手が語った内容は、聞き手が聞いたとことの相互作用で語られたことですし、どのように物語が記述されるか、語り手が語ったどの部分が記述されるかは、聞き手/書き手に任されます。書き留められる物語は、語り手と聞き手の共同作品なのです。
このようにすることで、語り手は自己の人生が大切にされるべき物語であることに気付けますし、聞き手もあるにとの人生の意味に気付きます。また、インタビューをそのまま聞いたりインタビューを文章化したものをそのまま読むのとは違い、書かれた物語を読むことはそこまで時間のかからないエンターテイメントとなるため、読み手の関心も引き寄せることができます。なお、物語化する際は読みやすさだけでなく語り手のプライバシーに注意する必要があるでしょう。
物語の書き方は、聞き手に一任します。ただ、従来の書くだけの表現方法に捉われなくてもよいかもしれません。イメージ、動画、音声、アート、様々な表現で、語り手の人生を表していくこともできます。
聞き手は初めのうちはプロジェクトメンバーが担い、方向性を作っていきたいと考えています。プロジェクトが軌道に乗ったら、一般の人や学生を参加者としても募ることができるでしょう。語り手は何かのグループ(所属、年代など)から募ってもよいかもしれません。
このプロジェクトに近いプロジェクトは世界でたくさん行われていますが、語り手と聞き手のコラボレーションとしての物語作成をメインとするものはあまりありません。
私が興味を持っている類似のプロジェクトは以下のようなものです。
○「東京の生活史」プロジェクト
...一般参加者が東京に住む人にインタビューをし、そのインタビューをほほーそのまま記録して、本にまとめています。インタビューの数が150に及ぶのがすごい！
○StoryCorps
...アメリカのプロジェクト。親しい人が親しい人にインタビューを行い、その音声をクラウドに保存しています。インタビューブースが出張し、一般の人や何かのテーマに関係のある人(マイノリティの人など)にインタビューが行われます。アプリを使い誰でも自分の行ったインタビューを公開することもできます。
世界には素晴らしい前例があります。私たちは全く新しいことをする必要はないので、参考にしていけばよいと思います。プロジェクトを進める中で、私たちの独自性が生まれてくると思います。

Everyone's life is really important, interesting, and meaningful.
Even though we understand this, how many people understand and feel that from their experience.
Some people believe that their lives are meaningless but others are great and meaningful. On the other hand, my life is perfect, but unknown people's lives don't exist.
However, if the more peple think everybody's live is interesting, meaningful and important, the better this world will be.
One of the ways to make this ideal true is our "○○museum" project.
This is a project to preserve and exhibit various people's stories.
This project is based on the theme that somebody listens to somebody's life, writes it dowm, and show it to the audience.
The project might have some elements similar to oral history, life history, interview, and storytelling.
The important points of this project is that not only narrators but also listeners/writers have precious roles. A narrator's story is not the writing just coming from the interview. What a narrator talks is born from the interaction with a listener. In addition, how to write the story and which parts are picked up from an interview depends on a listener/writer. Stories from this project are collaboration works of narrators and listeners/writers.
By doing that, narrators can notice that their lives are stories that should be taken care of, and listeners can notice the meaning of life. This projects' works will be different from just listening to or reading interviews because the written stories will be an entertainment that require times and attract the attention from the readers. By the way, we should pay attention to the narrators' privacy as well as making the story easy to read.
We leave how to write stories to the listeners. Listeners don't need to be stuck on old writing style. They can use any expression such as images, movies, audio, arts and so on to express narrators' lives.
At the beginning, project members will be charges in listeners, and then we will make the project direction. When our project starts going on, we can ask ordinary people and students to join. Narrators can be gathered by some categories like age groups and work places.
There are several projects similar to our projects around the world, but there are only a few cases that focus on the collaboration between narrators and listeners.
Similar projects that I'm interested in are below.
○「Tokyo's life history」project
...Ordinary people did interviews people who live in Tokyo. Those interviews are written down almost as they were and god a book. The interviews were 150!
○StoryCorps
...American project. People interview somebody they know well, and the interview audios are preserved. Interview booths go to some places in the U.S. and they interview with ordinary people or people who are related to some theme like minority people. We can upload our interview by using their app too.
There are many wonderful examples all around the world. We don't need to do tatally something new, so we can refer to them. By doing our project, we can create our own uniqueness.
