(continuing) One of the reasons why the Oxford university students study so hard is there is a teaching system called 'Tutorial' in the university.In the tutorial system, a professor teaches only a few students, which makes students receive a direct feedback on their weekly essays. Every week these essays are set as homework, and students are forced to study mare than 6 or 7h per a day (for example, they are forced to read more than 500 pages to write their essay.)If they don't finish it, they can't understand contents of the class at all, and professor will ignore them and discuss with the rest of them.On the other hand, there are no such system in Tokyo university.The classes are always given at a large room, and 40-50 students attend it. Homework is rarely given, and therefore they don't have to study hard until 2 weeks before exams.
