The Ebola virus disease is
one of infections caused by Ebola virus. In 1976, this disease was first
reported in area of Sudan. Ebola symptoms are a high fever, a headache, vomit,
internal breeding. In addition, Ebola virus has a high risk of death, between
50% and 90%. The source of infection is wildlife such as bat and monkey.
Central Africans often eat wildlife. The main route of infection is direct
contact with body fluid such as blood and saliva. Nowadays, this disease spread
not only humans but also other animals. Ebola virus may destroy an ecosystem.
An epidemic of Ebola virus
disease is ongoing in certain West African countries. Beginning of this
epidemic is a 2 years old boy live in Guinea. He died in 6 December 2013. After
that, his sister, mother, and grandmother became ill, and then, they all died.
Ebola virus disease has been spreading very fast. Until quite recently, there
are no infected person except for Africa. But in October, the virus entered America,
and an American parson who infected died. This epidemic is still causing damage.
We should consider this state of emergency more seriously.
One of the reasons why Ebola
fever is breaking out is we don’t know about the disease. The man who died of
Ebola fever in America told the staff of the hospital that he visited Liberia,
but he or she didn’t say that to the doctor. In other words, he or she doesn’t
understand how dangerous Ebola fever is. If the staff tells the doctor, America
may be able to stop the spread of Ebola. Other example, Itai-itai disease tells
us how important to know about diseases. In that disease, not finding the
causes of Itai-itai disease, a lot of people suffered from it. The more we know
about Ebola fever, the more we will able to prevent us from the terrible
disease. So, we should understand it more precisely. Governments should
continue to announce information about Ebola disease not to cause a panic and
result in immense harm. So it’s important to increase the public’s confidence
in government.
To prevent more spread of
infection, Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone that have many infected people
made National emergency committee. Guinea has not agreed with closing borders
and makes effort to fight with the epidemic. On the other hand, Liberia close
the border and close all school. Furthermore, they declare emergency and want
Prime Minister Abe to give them help Sierra Leone also close the border and
declare emergency. And they are grounded and check all the people. Inspire of
their efforts, their countermeasure didn't success because people obey their
government. They distrust to their government because of long period war and
misgovernment.
