英語字幕を紹介しています。

字幕はあまり直訳されず、話の流れに合わせて短時間で意味が伝わる文章にされているので学びがとても多いです

今回はリネット、スーザン、ブリーの会話を取り上げてみました～

シーズン１　第8話「罪の段階」

4人の子育てに疲れ果て、ADD(注力欠如障害)の薬を飲んで育児を頑張っていたリネット。
しかしそんな自分を駄目な母親だと責めて、ついに家を飛び出していってしまいます。
心配したスーザンとブリーが駆けつけると・・・

【英語のみ】
リネット　 It totally messed me up. I love my kids so much. I'm so sorry they have me as a mother.
ブリー Lynette, you're a great mother.
リネット　 No, I'm not. I can't do it.
I'm so tired of feeling like a failure. It's so humiliating.
スーザン No, it's not! So you got addicted to your kids' A.D.D. Medication. It happens.
ブリー You've got four kids. That's a lot of stress. You just need help.
リネット　 That's what so humiliating. Other moms don't need help. Other moms make it look so easy. All I do is complain.
スーザン That's just not true! When Julie was a baby, I was out of my mind almost every day.
ブリー I used to get so upset when Andrew and Danielle were little, I used their nap times to cry.
リネット　 Why didn't you ever tell me this?
ブリー Oh baby. Nobody likes to admit that they can't handle the pressure.
スーザン I think its just like we think, you know, it's easier to keep it all in.
リネット　 Oh, we shouldn't! We should tell each other this stuff!
スーザン It helps, huh?
リネット　 Yeah. It really does.

【字幕つき】

　　　　　　　　　　話すべきよ　一人で悩まなくてすむもの

スーザン It helps, huh?

リネット　 Yeah. It really does.
　　　　　　　　　　ええ　楽になったわ

自分だけがこんな思いをしているんじゃないか・・・
育児をしているお母さんたちはみんなそういう気持ちになることがあるんですね。
泣きながら話すリネットのこのシーンは、これまでで1番の感動シーンな気がします。・ﾟﾟ･(≧д≦)･ﾟﾟ･｡

failure　＝　失敗、不成功、失敗した人、出来損ない

out of (my) mind ＝　頭がおかしい、気が狂って、正気でない、発狂して

keep in ＝　[感情を]抑える、隠す

A.D.D. attention-deficit disorder　＝注意力欠如障害、多動症候群
