Educational gap is inequality that is influenced by one’s surroundings. Children whose parents are rich can receive much education. For example , they can go to a cramming school and graduate from college. But children whose parents are poor cannot receive much education. They cannot go to a cramming school and college. This problem is very serious abroad as well as Japan. In developing country, a lot of children cannot get education. Education is very important all over the world. But we cannot work out a solution to this problem. So this problem is one of the most difficult issues in the world.
Prejudice due to educational inequality
Japanese have theprejudice which the high school graduate persons cannot employment first-class enterprises. On the other hand they have the prejudice which the people that university graduation can employment first-class enterprises. The reason is that we have an image that the high school graduate persons aren’t smart. Of course anything doesn’t make a mistake in those, but any people may not be so. Even if the high school graduate persons, the personswho have their goal and make an effort to it can employment first-class enterprises. On the other hand even if the university graduation, the persons who spent leisurely college life without studying on their own cannot even get jobs. I think it isn’t good that Japanese judge the persons only by educational background.
The effects of prejudice due to educational inequality
Having their job is influenced by educational inequality, and it effects their life and their children’s life. For example, some children whose family have a lot of money can go to high level schools such as private schools but some children whose family do not have much money cannot go to high level schools. Moreover some children whose family have much money can go to cramming schools after school but some children whose family do not have much money cannot go to cramming schools if they want to study more. If they experienced high level education and entrance examinations, they can use them when their children challenge them. If you experienced them, you do not be worried when they talk with PTA members. People may be troubled without their experience. Parents’ educational inequality effects their children.
Possible solutions to this problem
I think that scholarships can reduce the educational inequality. At first, it is important thing is everybody know details of scholarships. Scholarships have several types . So people who use scholarships should understand the scholarships to choose the one that fits your situation. Second, it is necessary to reform of scholarship system itself. We have strong recognization that scholarship is a debt. So there are people who would give up that you think to rent a scholarship at the thought of future repayment. To reduce such people we should take measures such as increasing the repayment grace. It is necessary to get to know a lot of people for the educational inequality.
