Before the internet we were pretty much left on our own. What we lacked in information we more than made up for in imagination and energy. Television, in its infant stage, was more of a distraction than an infatuation.
With time on our hands and little else we came up with ingenious ways of entertaining ourselves and here are just a few:
* We tried building bombs with grandpa's nitroglycerin pills.
* We tried to be "cool " by rolling our own ( cigarettes ) using
newspaper and grass clippings.
* We also tried digging our way to China.
Most of my friends gave up after a couple of hours
But after 20 years, here I am.
I may have missed my target, but not by much.
