Have you ever posted a review about a place you visited? Why or why not?
I’ve written a review once. Two years ago in the winter, I went snowboarding with my friends and stayed at the lodge that was managed by the uncle of one of my friends . Since we were his nephew’s group, he let us stay for a really cheap price. In return, he asked me to write a five-star review in English, so I did. That’s the only review I’ve ever written.
what did you include in. your review?
I don’t remember exactly, but I wrote only good things—like how clean the rooms were and how delicious the meals were. I was totally being a paid actor.
how did you feel while you're snowboarding at that resort?
I went with three friends — two of them had snowboarding experience, and the other one was also a beginner, but he's a natural athlete.
At first, I felt a bit left behind and a little frustrated haha.
But we stayed for three days, and by the second day, I improved enough to keep up with them, which made me really happy and proud.
Would you recommend Tokyo to your friends? Support your answer.
Of course! Tokyo is a center of fashion and trends.
People walking around are stylish, there are so many great restaurants, and each neighborhood has its own personality.
Whether you're hanging out with friends or going on a date, there’s always somewhere to go.
I think it’s the perfect city, especially for young people.
Sounds like you really know Tokyo. Do you have a favorite neighborhood?
I like shopping for vintage clothes, so I often go to neighborhoods with a lot of secondhand stores.
Especially Sangenjaya and Shimokitazawa — they’re connected by one road, and on weekends it becomes pedestrian-only, which is really nice.
Do you take photos when you travel? Why or why not?
I don’t really have the habit of taking photos, even when I travel.
But I do like being in photos.
My mom loved taking pictures of me when I was a kid, so I’ve gotten used to smiling for the camera right away
Do you read online reviews before going somewhere new? Support your answer.
Definitely — it’s really important!
I like choosing good places to go, so I often check Google reviews before deciding.
I usually look for places with at least a 4.0 rating.
Have you ever had an experience where online reviews were really helpful or totally wrong?
Yeah, reviews are usually helpful.
For example, if I see a comment that says “smoking is allowed at all tables,” I’ll wear clothes I don’t mind getting a bit smelly.
Or if the entrance is hard to find, reviews often explain how to get there.
So yeah, I rely on them a lot — they’ve saved me many times.
(もっとカジュアルに、I always check reviews because they tell you stuff the official info doesn’t.
Like if it’s a smoking place, I know not to wear my favorite hoodie!
Or if the entrance is tricky, someone always mentions it.)
