FireFox 3.5でtab X 2.0を使う

tab xが3.5以上で使えないがためにバージョンアップを控えていたが、このたびHDDがクラッシュするという惨事にあい、いろいろ再インストールすることになったので、思い切って3.5を入れてみた。
が、はやり使い慣れたtab xがないと使い勝手がわるくなんとかしたいと思っていたところ、アドオンのレビューのところにzork氏の有益な記事が載っていたので、それに従ってインストールしてみたところ問題なく使えている。

当然アンオフィシャルな方法なので注意のこと

You can make this work with FF3.5 (I just did)

go to versions and download the latest file (don't install)

add .zip to the file name and extract the install.rdf file (using winzip, etc.)

open this file in notepad, vim, or another text editor and change the max version from 2.something to 3.5.0.*

update the zip archive with this file then remove the .zip extension (i.e. change it back to .xpi)

drag the xpi file into an open firefox session to install

restart FF and voila ... you have close buttons on your tabs.

BTW, when you have wider tabs with this, think about installing Tree Style Tabs for a vertical tab bar.

このままでは不可で 「3.5.0.*」を「 3.5.5.*」としたところ無事インストールできた。
もちろんこの方法でなにか不具合がおきさらにPCに重大な損害を及ぼしたとしても当方は一切関知しないからそのつもりで。
