The critics of tlj asked where the continuity was with we have the same of this with where is the continuity from tlj. Don't get me wrong the original trilogy had awful scripts but there was a continuity in the story (same with the prequels) this is just a hashed up series of set pieces that try to we aren't stupid it, there is no consistent thread through, it's as if this film was concocted so that it can be just a view count hit on YouTube for the set pieces. What Abrams brought to star trek he has now brought to star wars. if Disney wants to halt the decline in sales, they should get people in who understand star wars.
Update : watched it 's still poopie. If you have attention deficit issues you'll love Abrams editing, and the pan zoom camera shots. Another annoyance is that I just realised palpatine now says the sith are akin to the 'highlanders' and there 'can be only one' lore. They should have developed snoke or brought him back as palpatine just seemed old, and kylo is as scary as a wet fish in a teddy bear outfit. Absolute nonsense of a film.
