分詞構文の作り方です。
次の文章を分詞構文にしてみます。
As soon as he was seen by the police officer, he ran away.
① 接続詞を消す
As soon as he was seen by the police officer, he ran away.
② 二つの節の主語を見比べて、同じなら、分詞構文にしたい方の節
(接続詞が従属接続詞の場合は必ず従属節)の主語を省略。
二つの主語が異なれば、そのまま残す。
As soon as he was seen by the police officer, he ran away.
③ 分詞構文にしたい方の節(接続詞が従属接続詞の場合は必ず従属節)
の動詞をing形にする。
As soon as he being seen by the police officer, he ran away.
④ 二つの節の時制を見比べて、詞構文にしたい方の節(接続詞が
従属接続詞の場合は必ず従属節)の方が古ければ、動詞を
having 過去分詞の形にする
※ 例文では時制が同じ過去形なので変化無し
⑤ 分詞構文の部分がhaving been、beingで始まる場合はこれを省略する
As soon as he being seen by the police officer, he ran away.
Seen by the police officer, he ran away.(完成)
