Gender discrimination is one of the social problems in the world. Gender discrimination exists from ancient time, and makes people worried. What on earth gender discrimination is it? According to the dictionary, gender discrimination is “social discrimination based on gender in contravention of equality”. Gender discrimination often means discrimination against women at one time. But the meaning changed significantly for the last several decades. This word means discrimination against not only women but also men recently. Therefore this problem has a wide range of interests. How should we deal with this problem?
There is lots of discrimination in Japan. I think that gender discrimination is the biggest discrimination in Japan because Japan’s gap in wages between men and women is big compared to foreign countries. But not limited to a gap in wages between men and women, a lift in their career is the same. Why does it turn into this kind of situation? I think that women retire after they gave birth to their child. On that account, men that work with women can't help doing that. But women’s power is great. Japan should use women’s power, so gender discrimination is done away with.

Why is gender discrimination a problem? First, gender discrimination snatch something away from somebody. This problem, not just women, applies to men too. For example, men got a good dressing-down from the society for strange that they work as nurse formerly. On the other hand, women are made someone mind up on doing housework in house. These prejudice make it harder for men or women to work such a scene. Second, gender discrimination create a new kind of problem like sexual harassment. Men fit this case let alone women. Men can’t say about suffering sexual harassment with shame. This shame is caused a conservative way of thinking that man should be strong. This thinking is wrong.
I think this solution is the education of women. Our society tend to require advanced education to us, and we generally have to get a grater score on exams , for example entrance exams at university or college. Assuming that the situation women cannot live without men for financial reason is real, if women can get money her being able to live her own self, she cannot put up with that situation any longer. Education of women is able to advance getting ahead in society of women, and getting ahead in society of women defends right of women in society.
