The rider needs to slightly lean backwards or forward so as to move backwards or forward respectively. Applying a slightly greater pressure makes an electric motor to speed up thus leading to a smooth curve. For the rider to turn on the right or on the left, they are required to place the foot on the right or left lever respectively. To stop the motion, one needs to stand upright with the legs far apart.
