Pop music or mainstream music is a genre that has always been close to the heart of music loving audience. The type of music that is considered pop today is not the same type that was considered popular a few decades ago.

Starting any home business is a major decision and not one to be taken lightly. You need to be prepared mentally, emotionally, and financially. Someone doesn't just walk away from their day job if they are not mature enough to make a commitment to work their business. Someone doesn't just walk away from their day jobs if they can't make the mortgage payment one month later. But once you are fully prepared to take the leap, there's no looking back. In the film and video industry, there are many job options. You could be a Production Assistant, and help aid the show by running errands and crowd control. You could be a Make-Up Artist, creating the look of the actors before they get in front of the camera. You could work in the camera department to operate cameras and load the footage onto a computer. You could be a grip and help set up the lights. You could be an editor, or a compositor, or a writer, or an AD or... Any other variety of jobs on a film set or video shoot. You music trends could even become an actor!

A struggling singer can also work for a movie. If you have mesmerized everyone with your voice, then you can sing for a movie. If this happens, you can be very successful in your life.

There will also music jobs sometimes be open auditions and castings which means that you do not need to be with any agency and anyone is free to attend the audition. Open auditions can be very packed, but if you don't have an agent yet then you'll have to go to these auditions to start building up your CV and if you want to find work. They can be advertised in newspapers, websites and notice boards.

Mention some things that relate directly to the company you are applying to - the names of the artists, your passion about what it is they do, how you became interested in music, etc.

However, it is not easy to get these type of jobs especially for folks who are first timers. Yes, there are a vast number of jobs that you can get from these online companies but it's very risky to trust someone anonymous to you. For a fact, they can choose to ignore and not to pay you for your services. It is easy for them to escape because of the anonymous approach of transactions.

Now I'm not saying you should 'sell out' or make music you don't like, but within the type of music you enjoy making, you need to appeal to as many people as possible. Doing any less will most certainly hinder how far you take your music, so remember to get regular feedback from the people that pay your wages: The audience!
