the other day, i was waliking down off-street with someone i know, and a hybrid car passed from behind. i was talking with him but man, i never noticed the car approaching. that's really dangerous. i've seen hybrid cars but on the busy main street, not on the off-street, so i never knew how silent those cars are (when driving on electronic mode). now i understand why those car need "engine" sound.
先日、知り合いと路地裏を歩いていたらハイブリッド・カーが通り過ぎたんですよ。で、話しながら歩いていたんですが、車が迫っているのにまったく気付きませんでした。これは本当に危険。ハイブリッド・カーは見たことあるんですが、それは路地裏ではなく、交通量の激しい大通りでのことだったのでどんなに静かなのか知らなかったわけです。今になってやっと、なぜ「エンジン」の音が必要なのかが分かりました。
