Fragmentation of your hard disk is another cause for your computer running slow. Each time you create documents and folders, downloaded music files from the Internet, transfer digital images from your digital camera, or transfer family video footage onto CD's, you are using more of your computers' hard disk storage and it takes longer to search and find the files you want to access.

Simply deleting files from the disk doesn't really delete them at all; rather they are moved to a temporary holding area on the hard drive for easy restoration. This area is called the Recycle Bin and is usually displayed on the Desktop.

A slow internet connection can be caused by many things, like the type of connection you have, the presence of spy ware, viruses, and other programs, or outside factors, like heavy traffic on a website. So you should check out the main reason. If it is not your computer's problem, call the internet connection service.

The Internet is also a source of spy ware, data mining programs, and mal ware that you can pick-up by just browsing Internet websites. Some of these infections are not malicious, but they all take away systems resources and again cause Windows to slow down. You get enough of these infections on your computer and again it will slow down to a crawl.
