Mariah Carey welcomes twins in L.A.
Talk about an awesome anniversary gift! Pop star Mariah Carey, 41, and her husband Nick Cannon. 30, welcomed twins -- a boy and a girl -- this morning, which also happens to be their third wedding anniversary.
"Congratulations to Mariah & Nick on the birth of #dembabies!!" a rep wrote on the singer's Twitter page. "Born, April 30th at 12:07pm ET. Mommy, Daddy & #dembabies are all doing fine!" Cannon added his sentiments on his Twitter page: "My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life! I won't ever be able to top this!"
Carey's rep says the singer was calm and relaxed as Cannon drove her to the hospital, but that he was nervous and frantic, even going to the wrong department in the hospital. "It was like right out of an I Love Lucy skit," Berger told the Associated Press.
Berger added that the new parents fittingly played Carey's hit song We Belong Together shortly after their twins were born. No word yet on names for the Carey-Cannon babies.
