さて、米国の友人から地理に関するメールが飛び込んできて、これはおもしろいので、ご紹介。

アマゾン川はとても沢山の水を流し、河口から大西洋に100マイル（160キロ）以上も押し出し、大西洋で淡水を汲むことができます。
アマゾン川の水量はアマゾン川の次に大きな8つの川の水量の合計よりも多く、米国の全ての川の水量の3倍にもなります。
