#Regram @nytimes "Sculptures are normally seen as static and monumental, while these are always living in the moment," the sculptor @jason_decaires_taylor told @nytimes in his studio in Playa Blanca, on the Spanish island of Lanzarote. The reporter Raphael Minder photographed his submerged statues 1,000 feet off the coast and 45 feet below the sea at #MuseoAtlantico, Europe's first underwater museum. Scuba divers can pay 12 euros to see Jason's installations, which address social issues like Europe's migration crisis and the destruction of ocean reefs. It took Jason more than 2 years to make all the works and submerge them 45 feet into the sand below. The Museo Atlantico opened officially on January 10, but feather worms and sponge are already starting to cover the statues.
