芋坂の団子

羽二重団子は夏目漱石の『吾輩は猫である』にも登場する江戸時代創業の老舗です。
羽二重団子(Habutaedango) is an old store which was established in the Edo period and appeared in
Soseki Natsume Novel ＊『吾輩は猫である』(I am a cat)
　
　＊『吾輩』を英訳するのは難しいですね。
　　『吾輩』には、この場合オス猫で尊大な口調で話すという意味などが含まれていますが、英語の
　　１人称は「I」しかありません。
　　
　＊It is difficult to translate 『吾輩』　to English.
　　『吾輩』includes several meanings, that the cat is a tomcat and he speaks in an arrogant tone in this case.　
　　

芋坂の団子として登場しますが、その部分を「青空文庫」からコピペしました。　尚、英訳はdiaryさんなので、今度、英訳本を買ってきて比較してみたいと思います。

羽二重団子は由来の通り絹のように滑らかですが、値段は決してやすくありません。
It is really soft and smooth like 羽二重(silk), but it is certainly not cheap.

日暮里駅の販売所では一折５本入り(写真）１，２１８円で、普通のお団子の３倍のお値段です。
It is 1,218 Yen for 5 pieces in a case which is triple the price of an ordinary dumpling.

でも、お店で食べるのは安いと思います。
