There was a federal election yesterday. We now have a Liberal majority government in Canada. This is a much needed change from almost a decade-long Conservative government in office. What makes me even happier is that nearly 70% of eligible voters turned out to cast their votes in yesterday's election. It's nice to know that people care.

At the same time, there were over 30% of the population who couldn't be bothered to take five minutes of their day to put an X on the voting card. I live with one of them; it annoys me.

I see friends who now live abroad wishing they could have taken part in deciding the fate of their country. I won't be in this country much longer and I wondered if I'd feel the same.

I guess only time will tell.
It must be manic in Toronto right now. Baseball fever has hit the city since the early 90s.

I haven't seen the stadium formerly known as Skydome filled to its capacity in decades. I haven't seen this much excitement about baseball since the 90s. It's great to see it, and remotely experience it.

But all is calm in Vancouver.
Damn the distance.

I guess I was wrong about being on the periphery of it all.

I was interviewed.

I played my part in this.

We will see how this announcement is received by the field.

Exciting times ahead.
