星はいつも空に浮かんでいるけれど
暗闇の中でしか見ることができない
この世のものごとに近づきすぎると
見える星の数はとても減ってしまう
都市の人工的な光が夜空を洗い流し
神さまの栄光の完全さを見るための
わたしたちの力を覆い隠してしまう
これはわたしたちの精神的な生活に
おいてもどれほど真実なことだろう

“The stars always hang in the sky,
yet we can only see them in darkness.
The number of stars we are able to see
greatly decreases
when we are too near the things
of this world.
Man-made lights from cities
wash out the night sky,
and mask our ability
to witness the fullness of His glory.
How true is this
also in our spiritual lives?”
