1977年リリース。
本盤はビル・ウィザースにとって代表作とは言い難いですが、クラシックと化している『lovely day』を収録しているので今でも人気の1枚です。
個人的には（2）「I Want to Spend the Night」が好きです。
ブラジリアンムード漂うゆったりしたグルーヴが心地好いトラック。
歌詞がラブソングとして秀逸で、男の俺でもグラッとくるスイートな世界です。
時代を写す部分としてはディスコグルーヴの導入が挙げられますが、ビルが歌うと内省的な世界が広がるので不思議です。
本人はディスコを取り入れたことを恥じているようですが、俺にはそのアンバランスさも魅力だと思えるんですけどね♪
画像でCDの下敷きにしたのは定期講読しているwax poetics japanのvol.3に掲載されたビルのインタビューページなんですが、これを読んで改めて思うのは、『引きの美学に長けた人だなぁ』という事です。
思慮深く言葉を選んでいるのを読むにつけ、プライベートとアーティストとの境界線をキチッと守っているように思えます。
早々に業界に見切りをつけて引退したビルですが、アイデアの枯渇がその原因ではなかった事がよくわかりました。

余談ですが、5年前にクアラルンプールを訪れた時、夜飲みに出掛けたバーで(3)「Lovely Night for Dancing」が流れてきて歓喜したことがあります(^-^)
