WHO AND WHAT ARE WE

I have a set of masks.
Designed for each and every occasions.
I am like everybody else,
I cut and bleed easily
Oh, and what are we?
A puppet of today’s society.

Being different was never easy.
And so is trying to be someone else
Everything is documented,
In these little flickering devices of ours
The truth become lies
And the lies becomes reality.

You have to be beautiful
Or people will mock and make fun of you.
Nobody dares to speak and stand up,
Voiceless in a body that’s capable of speaking
Our minds are all tied up,
Cultivated into the norm that we need to follow.

We are like a lamp,
Slowly dying in a vast dark space
A small wooden boat,
Lost in the middle of the ocean
Deprived of our own identity
Branded, treated as one.
