davidのブログ-NFL Offseason: Houston Texans
The Texans were a good, but not a great team in 2012. They should that they were not quite yet ready for the elite teams, when they were dismantled by the Patriots in the playoffs. Their offense has rounded into form the past couple of years as they have become a run first team. The only problem about that is their passing attack has not caught up with the running game and when they cannot run effectively the passing game struggles immensely. The defense also showed some chinks in the armor late in the season, and now the Texans will need to fill some holes to make sure they are going to be a great team next year.

1. Refine The Wide Receivers

Andre Johnson is getting old and is starting to be a little injury prone and the Texans need to find a replacement now, before it is too late. They also really do not have any good depth behind him right now. Kevin Walter is becoming less effective by the year, and Owen Daniels has a history of injuries. The Texans need to inject some young talent into a aging group and get a passing attack that is more consistent than it was last year.

2. Get A Better Pass Rush

JJ Watt is great but he cannot do it all for the Texans. Teams started to double team Watt because no one else on the team could get a consistent pass rush on the qb. Connor Barwin might walk after a disappointing season. Whitney Mercilus was okay, but he disappeared for games at a time. The d-line depth is great in this year's draft and the Texans will tap into it to get a couple of more pass rushers.

3. Inside Linebacker

The Texans fell apart after Brian Cushing went down with a injury against the Jets. They had no one behind him to fill in his spot and the Texans need to learn from their mistake this year and get a reliable backup up for Cushing.
