We are a group from MMEDIA 1A03 tutorial 09. We are doing exercise #2.
We are Chih Hsuan Liao, Xinyu Fan, Aki Komuro.
The exercise is about creating a DIY multimedia tool to replace the common hi-technology media. We decide to make a frame and effect for taking pictures.
For materials, we prepared colour papers, colour markers, a cutter, a wrapping bag, tapes, scissors, a clip, and a ruler.
As an object, we use an eraser.

Let’s look at our first step!
We scaled the the size of the camera (which is 1cm x 1cm), and we made a circular base. We divided the base by six portions, and each portion is design for different photo effect. We make sure that the space for the photo does not exceed 1cmx1cm.

Next, our first effect

We used this to make our effect. We cut it this rapping bag in a small piece and cut a hole in the middle. And if we take picture with this it is like this...

Looking at the second effect,
We drew a heart on the red colour paper.

And we cut a heart shape hole on that red colour paper. The picture with this is like this...

Third effect,
We want to make the effect with orange. So we coloured the Ziploc with orange marker, and cut it to match the size of our circular base. The following is the picture that we took with this effect.

We cut it and take picture with it,,,

Unfortunately, it turns out to be a failure. The orange colour does not show up and get blurry. Maybe it is also because of the floor colour which similar to the orange colour.
And also, we found out the colour does not stay on the Ziploc bag, so we actually put another layer of Ziploc bag to cover the colour in order to minimize the risk of losing the colour. So we try to use another colour, purple.

And it turns out much better. Purple colour shows clearly on the Ziploc and delivers the blurry effect for the picture that we took.

Forth effect,
We used the waxing paper and cut a small circle on it.

Here comes an effect.

This is making blurry outside.
Fifth effect,
We drew the dots with green marker on the Ziploc.

Taking a picture and it turns out like this.

These are all effects we made. And we attach this with the circular base that we made in the beginning with our tape.

For using this, we use clip to the phone for taking picture.

And when we want to use other effect, we can turn it.

In conclusion, through our exercise #2, the key point is using prevalent materials to make high technology products. The purpose of the project applies our creativity ability in our daily life. Specifically, for our group, we use coloured paper to create the different effects for photographing. Although there were some failures, we learnt how and what we need to fix and make it better. The overall idea is to use those coloured papers to take pictures instead of downloading apps from the Internet and spend unnecessary money to buy photograph-related apps.
