Use this same process to make a dress for any occasion; just change the color of the shirts to something other than white. Instructions
1. Cut off the bottom hems on all of your T-shirts; then cut a straight line horizontally across the front of each shirt, just under the armpits. Hold the cut lower portions of the shirts; set aside the rest of the shirt pieces. The cut portions form a stack of T-shirt tubes.
2. Cut open each T-shirt tube that you cut in Step 1, so you have a number of flat white rectangles of T-shirt fabric. Wrap one around your torso like a tube top, wrapping it inside-out. If this fits all the way around your body from just above your bust to your waist, proceed to Step 3. If it is too small, sew this rectangle together on one side with a second rectangle and wrap those around your body inside-out, with the sewn seam front and center.
3. Pinch the fabric behind you to make it fitted; it should fit you snugly so that your T-shirt tube top stays up on its own. Get a friend to help you pin the shirt all along the pinch marks in the back, using straight pins to hold the two layers of fabric together. Gently slide the shirt off your body.
4. Sew a zigzag seam along the pinned line you made and cut off the excess fabric outside the seam. Fold down the top edge of this tube top by 1/2 inch toward the wrong side and sew in place with a zigzag seam as well; set this top aside.
5. Take the rest of your rectangles and sew them together. Sew one long side of one rectangle to one long side of another, and repeat this step until your rectangles are all sewn together in one long line. Sew the last two long edges together to make a very large tube. Use a zigzag stitch for all seams.
6. Use a needle and thread or a basting stitch on your machine to sew a long, straight stitch all along the top edge of the tube, positioning your stitches approximately 1/2-inch down from the cut edge. Leave a long tail of thread on both sides of the stitching, and pull these tails to gather the top of the tube and shrink it down to a smaller circumference.

Pin the strips together with the right sides facing each another and sew both long sides and one short side together, using a zigzag stitch. 9. Sew the unfinished edges of both straps to the front center of the top of the dress, angling them in a "V" shape toward the back of the dress. Pull on the dress and tie these behind your neck like a halter.
