I heard a presentation by Aziz Abu Sarah, a tourism entrepreneur and a peace builder. when he was seven years old, he remembered watching television and seeing people throwing rocks, and thinking, that must be fun thing to do. SO he got out to the street and threw rocks, not realizing he was supposed to throw rocks at Israeli cars. Instead, he ended up stoning his neighbor`s cars. They were not enthusiastic about his patriotism. He showed me his picture with his brother. In the picture, he used to look cute. I didn`t think of what the heck happened to him, but he told me it`s no wonder that I thought so. His brother, who is older than him, was arrested when he was 18 years old. taken to prison on charges of throwing stones. He was beaten up when he refused to confess that he threw stones, and as a result, had internal injuries that caused his death soon after he was released from prison.

In Japan, we don't expect ourself to lose our family, because of being beaten up by police. I don't know why they threw rocks, but all i can say is that I would not throw rocks if there were possiblity of getting arrested, even if someome gave me a punch.

Acorrdingly, he got angry and bitter, and all his wanted was revenge.

Ican imagen his feeling. Iwould cry if my father passed away when Iwas young.

One day, when he was 18, that changed. He decieded not he needed Hebrew to get a job, and going to study Hebrew in that classroom was the first time he ever met jews who were not soldiers. And he and his jews friends connected over small things, like the fuct he love country music, which is really strange for Palestinans. But it was then that he realized also that he and his friends have a wall of anger, of hatred and of ignorance that separates them. He decieded that it doesn't matter what happens to him. What really matters is how deal with it. And therefor, he decieded to dedicate his life to bringing down the walls that separate people.
