Matsue 松江

After Izumo, I stayed at Matsue for two nights. It's 1 hour from Izumo by train. Bus + JR is usually more convenient, but tragic being very busy in November. It was right to choose Ichibata local train with beautiful view from the window.

足立美術館

二日目は雨の予報。
安来の足立美術館に行くことにした。
雨の山陰本線は、でも、うらびれてなくていい雰囲気だった。

お庭はこんな感じ。歩けないのは残念だけど。

窓を掛軸に見たてる趣向。

お茶室は二つあった。一つは裏千家の監修で、お高いので、もう一つの方。…椅子だけど、とてもよかった。

安来市のハチマン焼きと聞いたお茶碗。手にピッタリくる感じ。欲しかったけど、売ってなかった。

Izumo Shrine 出雲大社

There are over 400 legendary gods in Japan.
Every year in November, they gather at Izumo, Shimane to have meetings.
There are lots of special ceremonies and events to welcome the gods.
I had a chance to visit the place this year.

Temporary shrine. The main shrine is under a periodical renovation.

The main shrine under renovation .. once in 60 years to repair the roof etc

This is where the gods stay during the convention petiod.

Gods arrive at this beach and head for the shrine. 20? minutes walk from the shrine.
