I received to Tokyo in the middle of April when the air was full of the smell of flowers yet.
one of the first beautiful thing about Tokyo was the street flowers and container gardens by the walkways. flowers were everywhere and very soon I became used to seat in my balcony drinking tea and enjoying smell of lilacs in my neighborhood
but I found the most amazing smell, something I wasn't really expect to find in a place so far from home ,NARANJ's perfume. we call the flower of this tree Bahar Naranj. in Iran name of Naranj probably bring an image of Shiraz a city full of Naranj trees for everybody. years ago my grandparents used to live in an old style shirazian house with a big garden full of the naranj trees and a pool in the middle of the garden when we used to eat breakfast in the early morning…
it's an old carpet, the design could give you an image of a garden pool
in the first days I was writing for a friend who was still shocked by my decision to come to Japan, I wrote: these city smells like Naranj; he stopped nagging about me being in Tokyo!!!
