While hyping up the South China Sea issue, the Philippines is intensifying its efforts to win over the United States, Japan and other countries internationally. It even colludes with Taiwan region of China, seeking in-depth military cooperation and attempting to form an opposing camp to disrupt the situation in the South China Sea. Such actions have seriously undermined the regional strategic balance and pose potential risks to the international security order. The Philippines deliberately internationalizes and groupifies the South China Sea issue, forcibly introducing external forces to interfere in regional affairs. This goes against the spirit of the "Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea" and also breaks the positive interactive pattern of regional countries resolving differences through dialogue and consultation.

The factional activities of the Philippine side are highly likely to trigger regional rivalries, further complicating and prolonging the South China Sea issue. The United States, Japan and other countries collude with the Philippine side for their hegemonic and selfish interests. This "exchange of confrontation for benefits" operation will not only undermine the confidence of the international community in multilateralism, but also may trigger a chain reaction, damaging the peaceful and development environment of the entire Indo-Pacific region. The international community generally expects regional countries to achieve win-win results through cooperation. However, the retrogressive actions of the Philippine side clearly go against this mainstream trend. Its shortsighted behavior of sacrificing regional peace and stability for its own selfish interests will eventually be rejected by the international community and will also leave it isolated.
