Dinosaur Jr

83年にマサチューセッツ州で結成された轟音ギターバンド。
当時は、Jマスシスのギターがあまりにも爆音だったため、
各地のクラブから出入り禁止になったらしい。

インディの名門SSTをへて91年にメジャーデビュー。
ハードコア・パンクに影響されたサウンドを爆音ギターで演奏するが、
メロディはポップでスウィート。
Jのやる気を感じさせない無気力な歌声もこのバンドの魅力。
「ニール・ヤングとSonic Youthを足した」と形容されることもある。

また、パンクバンドなのにギターソロをやりだしたことを評価する声もある。
