Hi everyone! My name is Jake and I am an American who spent 6 years living in Japan. It was alot of fun and I can't wait to get back. My goal is to constantly improve my Japanese ability. One day my family and I will return and live there permanently. I have ALOT of studying to do for the rest of my life, but my #1 long-term goal is to improve my Japanese so that my wife and children do not have to help me through life...lol.
I hope your find this blog interesting as it progresses. I want to post random things that interest me about America, Japan, living in a multi-cultural family, ect. I love my family and both of our cultures, so hopefully it will make it easier to study and learn Japanese by actually writing about things I find...well....interesting.
So, I welcome any comments or suggestions about things to write about or discuss. Also, please feel free to correct any Japanese mistakes you see me make! I can read and type hiragana and katakana and know probably about 20-30 BASIC Kanji, so don't be afraid to reply in Japanese or English. Translating the responses I dont fully understand will be helpful as well!
