Why Okinawa Independence Is Better Than Status Quo. Okinawan Currency To Boost Trade. Please SHARE
As it stands now, Okinawans are like a victim of a Snake Charmer. Japan is like that. Charming Okinawans with just enough support to keep them from complaining too much. Well behaving Jietai so they are not seen as enemy. US is perceived as troublesome, as No Base mantra is commonly heard from Okinawans. However nobody ever say No Jietai. I want to clarify why the correct mantra should be No Jietai!
So what happen after Okinawa awake from the wool pull over her eyes by becoming independent?
Four important things: Much Stronger Economy, Security, No Nukes & Real Democracy! Plus No Textbook History Manipulation, No Conscription Danger To Fight For 'Collective Defense Scheme' By LDP Abe
News articles below shows using Yen is reason why Okinawa can never be competitive. Recent talks of Special Economic Zone for Okinawa will go nowhere. This had being tested over a decade already with very poor result. The Yen is the culprit!
Current state of affair put Okinawa in harms way. Definitely war danger will harm Okinawa.
After independence, two tracks for Okinawa to follow. Preferred track is Neutrality. No US, No Jietai bases in Okinawa.
However I think it will be far harder to remove the pesky US bases than the Jietai. Jietai bases can be removed with US assistance. Yes, with US assistance! As I said many times, US while championing democracy is AFRAID of democracy that go against her objectives. Think of the Philippines using democratic process to kick US out of Subic Navy base in 1992. There is nothing US can do about it. So Okinawans can use democratic process to force Jietai out of Okinawa and US and the world will be watching to make sure Japan abide by Okinawan's wishes.
BTW Okinawans don't need to depend on Jietai for island emergency medical transport services. They should be able to have a few planes and helicopters for such services themselves.
Neutrality means no US bases in Okinawa, no Jietai bases but since US is such a pesky country, self invite, no shame country, Okinawans have to put up with this economic bully but negotiate a very favorable term for herself. This can be done for example by demanding US to make Okinawan a Protectorate so she is free from invasion FROM JAPAN, and also from China as many (wrongly) perceive.
This protectorate status will be renewable perhaps every ten years but we never know. Okinawans may just want to kick US out after the first ten years OR she will make a Mutual Peace Agreement with China, as well as Japan. In this case, US will be zero relevance by then, thus Okinawans can tell US adios! So the key here is for Okinawans to work hard after independence to secure a Peace Treaty with China to ensure China don't attack her.
For the Economic aspect, the reason Okinawa is not able to attract a lot of foreign investment have to do with the Wrong Currency she is using. She is using the Yen. A strong yen means Okinawa cannot compete with neighboring countries. So we don't see lots of companies setting up shop in Okinawa no matter how much tax breaks, incentives are given to foreigners. Only Japanese mainland companies take advantage of that but that means mainlanders lose. So very silly idea for mainlanders.
The very very first action for Okinawa Independence movement is to set up a default Okinawan Currency, pegged at whatever value to improve competitiveness for certain narrowly defined trades. Slowly spread them to encompass the whole economy as needed. There is no need to depend on tourism alone. So in a way this special Okinawan Currency is like giving a special tax break like FTZ to entice foreigners to come and invest in Okinawa.
Imagine an Okinawan currency valued at 80% of Yen. Immediately Okinawa becomes more competitive compared with her neighbors so there will be more exports from Okinawa. The most important thing with her own currency is Okinawa will change the Ratio of her revenues. Instead of say over 90% tourism revenue from mainland Japan, it may become 50% with the balance from overseas visitors from Europe, US. Notice now tourism from overseas are mostly from Taiwan, S Korea, some from China, Hong Kong, maybe South East Asia but the biggest prize is tourists from the Western world. Okinawa is way way short on this due to currency valuation.
Okinawa is mostly self sufficient in agriculture and fishery products so there is less need to import food. Thus a weaker currency does not impact Okinawans as much. Over time of course as Okinawa become stronger economically her currency will become stronger and will even be stronger than the Yen.
What happen along the way is more earnings come into Okinawan hands instead of being siphoned off to mainland Japan. With own capital base, Okinawans will improve their own destiny without needing a handout from Tokyo.
So it is a win win situation for Tokyo as well. Just give up Diaoyu/Senkaku and all problems will be solved for everybody's in the long run, including mainland Japan. No need to send Yen to Okinawa for social programs!
Real Democracy for Okinawans. It is very hard for Okinawans to know they are short changed by the Public Law in Japan. Many probably never travel to the West, so they don't know they are missing the most basic democratic rights: Freedom To Assemble without fear. I think many Okinawans and mainlanders don't realise this law is draconian and is against the spirit of democracy. How can you have a law with up to 23 days detention without trial and no lawyer? This is a deliberate law to put fear into Okinawans and mainlanders so they dare not do public assembly for fear of losing their jobs and being locked up based on mere suspicion. Not much different from a communist system of governance. Very shameful to label oneself a democratic country while using this draconian legal system to intimidate the citizens. Obviously the DIET don't believe in democracy FOR the people, but democracy for their own elite gang only.
An independent Okinawan will be able to express themselves freely. No need to feel fearful. No need to subject themselves to bureacrats with adminstrative means to discourage public assembly.
Right now, Okinawans and mainlanders are like domesticated human beings to put it bluntly. There is no daringness to take on authorities due to fear of being arrested. It makes no sense why there are so little people protesting major issues like Anti Nukes, Anti Secrecy Law. In a true democracy, the numbers against such policies, laws will easily number hundreds of thousands, even millions for a population the size of Japan. If Taiwanese can have hundreds of thousands for their own issues, Japanese including Okinawans should number at least in several hundreds of thousands as well for such controversial issues. I don't believe it is just culture. People are probably exhausted, give up home and also fearful.
A free independent Okinawa will never have to suffer from bad government. She will have a government FOR the people, not for themselves.
No need to suffer from Secrecy Law either. Why live in a Police State disguised as democracy?
No Nukes on Okinawan soil. Kick out US if nukes are found on bases. This is pre condition to allow US to stay. Remember the primary reason US kicked out from Subic was US refusal to declare nukes in her bases.

Legal process of arrest
When a person is suspected of a crime, the police can hold him for up to three days before initiating an investigation. The police must obtain approval from the prosecutor's office for a ten-day investigation. If, after ten days, the police are not satisfied with the investigation, they may request an additional ten days from the prosecutor and a judge. These requests are rarely denied. If a suspect can not afford an attorney, one will not be appointed; there are no <a>public defenders</a> in the Japanese legal system. BOO! THIS IS INHUMANE. THE ODDS ARE STACKED AGAINST THE CITIZENS OF JAPAN. DISGUSTING DEMOCRACY!
Prosecutors in Japan do not generally go to trial unless they have overwhelming evidence of guilt. Because of this tendency, they decline to prosecute nearly a quarter of all cases. IN OTHER WORDS, AT THEIR WIMP AND FANCY, NEARLY A QUARTER JAPANESE WILL HAVE RUINED CAREER AND FAMILY LIFE BECAUSE THEY CAN BE JAILED UP TO TWENTY THREE DAYS! NICE DEMOCRACY! For those that go to trial, Japanese prosecutors hold a conviction record of about 98%. These patterns contribute to public perceptions of the infallibility of the police and the legal system, and the perception that if a person is arrested, he or she must be guilty of the crime.
So what this law means is if you want to protest for independence you have to video the whole event to fight back any entrapment by the authorities. Only a Flash Mob may deter them from intimidating people who want to protest. With tens of thousands, the authority will be forced to be more respectful to the demonstrators and dare not make trumped up charges against them, especially if you are not Yamato people, meaning you are Uchinanchu, Okinawan or Ainu fighting for independence.
Final Note: Okinawans cannot depend on generosity of Tokyo forever. Tokyo is broke. No amount of gaming the system can fix the fact that Japan is not as rich as it seems. Even the trillion US dollar Treasury Bond Japan owns won't make a dent. Each Japanese, whether Yamato or Okinawans owed hundreds of thousands of dollars due to the very high 2x Debt/GDP ratio. This means a very bleak poor outlook for Japanese future generation. No matter how you look at it, the interest rate payment on the debt takes up half of the budget. Oh yes, another sales tax increase coming within a year of the current 8% tax! A FREE Okinawa means the Okinawan people don't have to put up with this burden. Tokyo will have to spread out the debt burden among the Yamato people. Yamato people have to wake up and remove LDP from office. It is their scheming to hold on to power that bring Japan to this situation. Now more budget for military is going to make it worse!

During the Bush presidency, many Americans travelling overseas present themselves as Canadian as they are ashamed of being an American due to lies by their government to start the war against Iraq under WMD pretext. We all know now there is no uranium yellow cake from Niger went to Iraq. This is how a deceitful government can harm one's country and her citizens. Okinawans are harmed by LDP governance. The Japanese passport does not convey a very good impression of being a Japanese as it used to be. An Okinawan passport will show one as from a proud responsible nation with no historical baggage.
Conscription danger! Under LDP Abe scheme, Okinawans will potentially become conscripts like mainlanders, drafted to fight foreign wars under 'Collective Defense' nonsense. Remember this is how Japan scheme during WWII, using Koreans to do dirty work in Vietnam and elsewhere. Same with Taiwanese natives. So Okinawans may fall into same trap by LDP to fight in Philippines, Vietnam etc.

A bigger hurdle for Okinawa is that entrepreneurs are nowhere to be found. Neither are the necessary engineers and scientists. There are eight local universities, which graduate about 20,000 students each year—of which fewer than 2,000 specialize in engineering or science. And the majority of the latter end up leaving the island soon after they graduate, as there aren’t any local jobs. Okinawa officials tout their IT industry, which employs 30,000 workers, as a potential source of talent. But this isn’t IT or engineering as we know it—it is low-level call-center work.
Yet Okinawa has little industrially to show for itself, with most people employed in the low-paying services sector.
Manufacturing accounted for just 4.1 percent of the prefecture’s economy, compared with the national average of 17.7 percent in fiscal 2009.
“Okinawa’s return to Japanese rule was supposed to unite it with the rest of the country, but in reality Okinawa’s economy was taken over by businesses from mainland Japan,” said Moritake Tomikawa, former president of Okinawa International University.
Okinawa today still relies on U.S. military-related earnings, which make up approximately 5 percent of its economy, while tourism accounts for 10 percent.
“Even with the special economic districts aimed at luring foreign and domestic companies, we have to remember that Okinawa is still a part of Japan where wages are high compared with overseas,” he said.
“It is hard to compete with China and other countries in that aspect,” he said.

何度も言っているように、民主主義のチャンピオンであるアメリカは、民主主義が自分たちに刃向ってくることを恐れている。
フィィピンが、民主的プロセスでもって、1992年にスービック湾から米軍を追い出したことを考えてみろ。
アメリカは、それに対してどうすることもできなかった。
だから沖縄の人たちは、自衛隊と米軍基地を追い出すために民主的プロセスを使うことができる、そして世界は日本が沖縄の人たちの意志を尊重するかどうかを、見守っている。
ところで、沖縄の人たちは、救急医療搬送のために、自衛隊に頼ることはない。
２つくらいの飛行機とヘリを、自分たちで用意しておけばいい。
中立性とは、沖縄に米軍基地も自衛隊もない状態をいうが、アメリカはやっかいで、ずうずうしくて、恥を知らない国だから、沖縄の人たちは、この経済いじめっ子をがまんして、自分たちに有利な条件で交渉するようにがんばらないといけない。
これは、たとえば、日本や中国から侵略されないように、アメリカの保護領になることを要求することで達成できる、中国から侵略されるというのは、多くの人が考えている間違った認識だけど。
保護領の地位は、たぶん１０年ごとに更新されるだろうか、どうなるかわからない。
沖縄の人たちは、もしかすると最初の１０年がたてば、米軍を追い出したくなるかもしれないし、または中国や日本との相互友好条約を結ぶかもしれない。
その場合には、アメリカはまったく関係がなくなる、だから沖縄の人たちは、アメリカにさよならを言える！
だから、独立後に、中国との不可侵平和条約を結ぶために尽力することは、カギとなるだろう。
経済的な面では、沖縄が多くの外国資本を呼び込めないのは、間違った貨幣を使っているからである。
沖縄は円を使っている。
円は強いから、沖縄は近隣諸国との競争に勝てない。
だから、どんなに税金が安かったとしても、沖縄にたくさんの企業が店を出すということはないし、外国人投資家のやる気が出ることはないんだ。
日本本土の企業だけがアドバンテージを握っていることになるが、それは本土の負けを意味する。
だから本土人にとってはバカな考えだ。
沖縄独立の最も最初の運動は、沖縄の貨幣価値を下げることである、ある程度絞った、貿易の競争力の出そうな程度に。
必要に応じ、ゆっくりをそれを経済全体に拡散する。
観光だけに頼る必要はない。
だから沖縄の特別な貨幣を使えば、ＦＴＺのような特別な減税をしているのと同じことになるんだ、外国人が沖縄に投資をしたくなるように。
沖縄貨幣が、円の８０％だったらと考えてごらん。
たちまち、沖縄は隣国と競争する力を持てる、だから沖縄からもっと輸出できる。
最も重要なことは、沖縄の新貨幣は、沖縄の税収割合を変えるということだ。
９０％を日本本土からの観光収入に頼っているかわりに、５０％くらいになって、欧州や、アメリカからの外国人観光客とバランスする。
外国人観光客というのは、台湾、韓国、中国、香港、たぶん東南アジアからも来ているということに気がつくこと、ただし、最も価値のある観光客は、西洋諸国から来る客だ。
沖縄は、貨幣価値のせいで、これからはほど遠い。
沖縄は農業と漁業ではだいたい自給自足しているから、輸入食品にはそれほど頼る必要はないだろう。
だから弱い貨幣はそれほど沖縄の人たちの打撃にはならないだろう。
長期的には、もちろん沖縄の貨幣は強くなる、円より強くだってなるだろう。
この方法によって起こることは、日本本土に濾しとられる代わりに、もっと多くの稼ぎが、沖縄の人たちの手に入ることだ。
独自の経済基盤で、沖縄の人たちは、東京の施しを受けずに自分の運命を改善することができるだろう。
だからこれは東京にとっても、互恵的状況である。
尖閣を諦めさえすれば、長期的には、全員にとってすべての問題は解決する、本土の日本も含めて。

明らかに、国会は自分たちエリートギャングのための民主主義を信じているのであって、国民のための民主主義を信じていない。
独立した沖縄の人たちは、自由に意見を言える。
恐れを感じる必要はない。
公の集会をする気をなくさせるための支配権を持った官僚に従属することはない。
現段階では、沖縄の人たちと本土の人たちは、ぞんざいに扱われる被支配階級だ。
逮捕されることを恐れ、権力を手玉に取るような気概はない。
反原発や、反秘密保護法のような大問題に反対する人たちが、とても少ないというのは、おかしな話だ。
真の民主主義では、そのような政策に反対する人数は、簡単に数十万人を数える、日本の人口サイズだったら、１００万人でもおかしくない。
台湾の人が、数十万人を動員するなら、沖縄を含めた日本では、ああいう議論になっている政策についてなら、最低でも数十万人は動員しなければならない。
私は、文化的習慣の問題だとは思わない。
人々はたぶんうんざりして、ただ家にいるだけ、それに、怖いし。
自由な独立沖縄は、悪い政府に苦しめられることは二度とない。
国民のための政府を持つのであって、政府のための政府ではない。
（独立すれば）秘密保護法に苦しめられることもない。
沖縄の地に、核兵器はいらない。
基地で核兵器が見つかったら、米軍を追い出せ。
これは、米軍を居させてやるための前提条件だ。
米軍基地が、スービックから追い出された理由は、アメリカは核を持ち込まないという宣言をすることを拒否したからだということを、忘れるな。

「逮捕の法的プロセス
個人が犯罪を疑われた際には、警察は、尋問の前に、彼を３日間拘留できる。
警察は、１０日間の捜査期間について、検察の承認を得なければならない。
もし、１０日後に、警察が満足のいく捜査結果を得られなかった場合には、さらに１０日間の延長を検察と裁判所から得ることができる。
これらの申請は、滅多に却下されない。
釈放が認めらることは稀である、安定した状況下においてのみ、子供や老人の縁者が被疑者の日常の世話に頼っているときのみ。
二度目の１０日間が過ぎたあと、検察官は被疑者を起訴するか、釈放しなければならない」
誰でも逮捕され、そして起訴される前の２３日間拘束される可能性がある。
２３日間の地獄、すばらしき民主主義！
「被疑者が逮捕されたときは、彼は２つの権利を申し渡される、ミランダ権利のようなものだ。
一つ目は、黙秘する権利。
二つ目は、裁判において弁護士をつける権利。
被疑者は、公判前には弁護士に会ったり、尋問の間に同席させる権利はない」
ワオ、これって、日本じゃなくて、中国じゃないかと思うね、それじゃ日本は、偽物の民主主義じゃないか！
被疑者が、指名した弁護士を雇えないなら。
「公選弁護人は、日本の法制度にはない」ブー！これは非人間的だ。
日本の国民に不利なことばっかりだ。
吐き気のする民主主義！
「日本の検察官は、有罪の証拠が圧倒的でない限りは、通常は公判に行かない。
なぜなら、四分の一近くのケースを、起訴しないという風潮があるからだ」
言葉を変えれば、こういった臆病で気取った傾向のせいで、２５％くらいの日本人はキャリアや家庭生活を滅茶苦茶にされる可能性がある、なぜなら彼らは２３日間投獄される可能性があるから！
すばらしき民主主義！
「公判に至るケースでは、日本の検察は、９８％の有罪判決率を誇る。
このようなパターンが、警察や司法制度の無謬性という印象を与え、誰かが逮捕されたら、人々は、彼または彼女は犯罪を犯しているという認識をする」
このように、この法律の意味は、君が独立運動をしようとしたら、当局の罠にかけられないように対抗するために、全部をビデオに撮影しておかなければならないということ。
フラッシュモブだけが、抗議運動をする人々への威圧を阻める。
何万人もいれば、当局はデモ者たちに敬意を払わざるを得ない、容疑をでっちあげて逮捕するわけにいかない、特に君が、大和民族ではない場合、君がうちなーんちゅ、沖縄の人やアイヌで独立運動をしている場合には。
ファイナルノート：沖縄の人たちは、東京の気前の良さに永遠に頼っているわけにはいかない。
東京は破産している。
システムをいじくっても、日本が見た目ほどリッチじゃないという事実を変えることはできない。
日本が、兆ドル単位のアメリカ国債を持っていることは、ぜんぜん価値がない。
日本人なら、大和でも沖縄の人でも、ＧＤＰの２倍の負債によって、それぞれ数十万ドルの借金をしていることになる。
これはまさに、日本の将来の世代にとっては、寒々しい状態である。
君がどういうふうに思っていたとしても、借金の利息払いが予算の半分を占める。
ああそうだ、１年以内には、今の８％からまた消費税が上がる！
沖縄独立は、沖縄の人たちがこの重荷を背負う必要がなくなるということである。
東京は、大和民族全体に、借金を振り分けるだろう。
大和の人たちは、目を覚まして自民党を追い出さねばならない。
日本がこんなことになったのは、彼らが権力にしがみついているせいなんだから。
今や、軍事予算の追加で、さらに悪化している！
徴兵制の危険がある！
安倍自民のスキームのもと、沖縄の人たちは、本土の人と同じように徴兵され、「集団的自衛権」というナンセンスを、外国で戦わされる可能性がある。
これは第二次世界大戦の日本のスキームと同じであることを思い出せ、朝鮮人を使って、ベトナムとかあちこちで汚い仕事をさせた。
台湾原住民も同じ。
だから沖縄の人たちも、自民党によって、同じ罠にはめられ、フィリピンとかベトナムとかで戦わされる可能性がある。
なぜ沖縄は、独立にあたって独自貨幣を必要とするのか！

必要不可欠な、技術者も科学者もいない。
地元には８つの大学があるが、毎年２万人くらいが卒業？するうちの、わずかに２０００人未満が技術や科学の資格を取る。
そして地元には仕事がないから、後者の多くは卒業してすぐに島を去る。
沖縄の当局者は、潜在的人材確保のための３０００人の雇用を生み出すＩＴ産業を誘致する。
しかしこれは、われわれが知っているようなＩＴや技術なのか？それは低レベルのコールセンターワークである。
