I've forever been fascinated by the cephalopods, particularly the Giant Squid, and watching a NOVA documentary on cuttlefish brought it under consideration. They're just fascinating, intelligent animals that most of us just are not aware enough about. They are so distant from us evolutionarily which they should probably be aliens sharing our world around. Our last common ancestor with all the cephalopods would be a brainless, eyeless, invertebrate with only probably the most rudimentary of nervous systems.
