Liu Xiaoxiu, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in
2010, died. He was in the hospital and under strict control
of the Chinese government.
He was a non-violent. He was a peace activist, and a human
rights activist.
Mr. Liu said, “Even if you're a minority, you must
announce your opinion, and the environment(the situation)
that you can announce the opinion different from political
power at time have to be maintained.”
Mr. Liu said, "I have no enemies and no grudges.
The person who watches me, the policeman who investigates
me, the public procurator who indicts me and the judge who
gives a decision against me aren't my enemy. I respect their
work and personality.
Hatred destroys personal wisdom and good sense, and
breaks tolerance and human nature of the society.
Hatred prevents the state from heading towards free and
democratic ones."
In addition, "I hope, my country becomes a place with
freedom, different values, and faith, where several political
ways of thinking can coexist.”
“I will be the last victim sent to prison for reason of
the written words in China. There will be no one to be
guilty on the reason of speech from now on.”
彼は次のように述べている。
たとえ少数派だとしても、意見を発表し、時の政権
と違う意見を発表することが出来るような環境・状況
は守られなければならない。
劉氏は「私には敵はいないし、恨みもない。私を
監視する人も、取り調べる警察官も、起訴する検察官も
判決を言い渡す裁判官も、皆、私の敵ではない。私は
彼らの仕事と人格を尊重する。恨みは個人の知恵や良
識をむしばみ、社会の寛容性や人間性を壊し、１つの
国家が自由で民主的なものへと向かうことを阻むも
のだ」と記しています。
そのうえで、「私は望んでいる。私の国が表現の
自由のある場所となり、異なる価値観や信仰、政治的
な考え方が共存できるようになることを。私は望んで
いる。私が、中国で、文章を理由に刑務所に入る最後
の被害者となることを、そして、今後、言論を理由に
罪とされる人がいなくなることを。」としています。
