Uday Shankar Pani is an Indian film maker from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). After passing out as a trained film director at the young age of 21, he assisted many renowned film makers for a decade which included Richard Attenborough’s ‘Gandhi’, Krishna Shah’s ‘Shalimar' and in BBC Nature History Units 'Jim Corbett' & 'Fella by the name'...' & other foreign productions. with the much acclaimed video Feature for Nari Hira's 'Hiba Films' and his commercial blockbuster in Bengali, Nepali, Mythological films for Gulshan Kumar. He started directing his own Feature Films, Music Videos, Events, Tele- Shopping Films, TV Serials and short films from 1980s onwards. His production houses - U.S Productions and S.P. Communications have produced and directed scores of short & feature films during the last three decades. Known for his technical excellence, Uday is a perfectionist and comfortable with any kind of film making. A filmmaker - who is equally Passionate about Direction & Production - making him one of the most sought after production designer / coordinator / line producer for foreign productions. In the famous 'White Book" published in U.K about working conditions in overseas countries, Andrews Bunchanan P.M of BBC Bristol described Uday as very knowledgeable about technical staff in India and can put together a good local crew. Uday Shankar Pani also made prominent ad films and had the opportunity to launched products like Hindustan Lever's' Fair & Lovely and most famous Mahila Griha Udyog’s Lijjat Papad ad. In 2016, he was selected as one of thirteen jurors for that year's International Film Festival of India.
