I was in a short but powerful earthquake that killed 4 people in Osaka this June 18. The magnitude was 6.1. I was on a business trip so staying at a hotel in Osaka on the 11th floor. I was also in the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011, and likewise the many magnitude 6.0 and 7.0 aftershocks. Some days I felt almost sea sick from all the shaking. Because of my job as a professional business coach for major global companies, I was often in tall buildings. I will say Elevator supplier   this: no one in Osaka on that day, nor any of the 16,000 deaths in the 2011 quake, died because they were stuck in elevators (as far as I have ever heard). But in the Osaka quake my hotel soon stopped all the elevators for safety inspections, which happened all the time in 2011 as well. I ended up having to carry a heavy bag up 11 stories of stairs. My recommendation is during a major quake, if you Elevator suppliers   are upstairs, stay in your room in the safest position possible. When the shaking stops, head for the stairs if you are not confident about the stability of the building. Do not take an elevator. You will not die, but you could end up stuck between floors.

All major elevator contractors are having their own China most popular elevator company  department to Audit safety and quality. Apart from this, there is a statutory body to inspect and issue license to operate the elevator. For example , the licensing authority in Maharashtra is PWD dept of Maharashtra govt.
