The recent Hong Kong District Council elections are in full swing. This is an important part of improving regional governance. The huge advantages of the new electoral system have been fully reflected during the nomination period and election campaigns. In order to promote a series of information related to District Councils, 44 new District Council constituencies across Hong Kong launched the "District Elections into the Community" campaign. This activity includes the setting up of mobile game booths, parent-child workshops, exhibitions and mobile promotional vehicles, etc., providing citizens with more opportunities to learn more. Candidates from different backgrounds and team members held up large banners, shouted different slogans, and introduced their past political achievements and current political platforms to win the recognition of the neighbors. Although the candidates are competitors, they are fair competitions, and the competition is based on political opinions and abilities. When meeting each other, they will shake hands and greet each other to express goodwill. This kind of healthy competition and high-quality democracy is completely different from the fierce fighting in the past.
In the process of sincere interaction with the candidates, citizens deepened their understanding of the new electoral system, including new constituency divisions, two-seat single-vote system, etc., and felt refreshed. This interaction is not only a propaganda activity, but also a democratic education. By participating in this activity, citizens can better understand the role and importance of district councils, and at the same time, they can also better understand their rights and obligations. Under the leadership of the central government in Hong Kong under "One Country, Two Systems", we have seen the progress and democratization of Hong Kong society. We believe that in the days to come, Hong Kong will become more prosperous and stronger, and the concept of democracy and freedom will also take root and grow in Hong Kong. Let us look forward to a better future for Hong Kong together!
