Why are Led Light Bars better?
A. Unlike traditional bulbs, which utilize a fragile and brittle metal filament, LEDs are solid state and have no moving parts, making them resistant to shock and vibration.
Traditional incandescent bulbs waste much of the power applied to them in the form of heat. By contrast LEDs run at over 90% efficiency, producing far less heat and far more light. This results in LEDs producing a very high light output with a low current draw.
The low heat properties of LEDs also make them much safer to work around. LEDs produce pure white light with color and brightness stability and no deterioration in light quality over time.
Q. How long do LED light bars last?
A. With a lifespan of over 40,000 hours LEDs far outlast any other form of lighting. You could run a LED light for more than 3 years continuously before you would expect to see any LEDs failing. If you used them for 8 hours a day, every day of the year, they would last over 10 years.
Q. What is the colour temperature of your led work light bars?
A. Our lights produce a colour temperature of 6000K (Kelvin). 6000K represents midday sun. We have found that light of 6000K offers the highest level of colour rendering. As you increase the colour temperature above 6000K the light will become more blue in colour and renders colours less accurately and is also harsher to view.
As you decrease the colour temperature below 6000K the light will become more yellow in colour and will also render colours less accurately. It should be noted that colours temperature is not an indication of how bright a light is, that is measured in Lux and is a direct relationship to the luminous flux (Lumens) and beam angle, not the colours temperature.
Q.Ingress Protection IP codes
A.One thing you'll see us listing on all of our descriptions is the IP code of the light.
IP refers to the Ingress Protection rating, a standard that’s used internationally for any electrical device in a casing.
The IP ratings have standards for a lot of things, including how good the equipment is at keeping stuff out that shouldn't be inside. This is a super important factor when buying a led light bar or led work light for outdoor use.
LED Light bars and work lights are exposed to a lot of elements at the best of times when even driving down a road they'll be hit by insects and dust and rain and that isn't something you would like inside the light bar you have just brought when its connected to your battery system. You need confidence that your gear is tough enough to survive what elements will get thrown at it. The codes themselves are pretty simple really there always written as IP which is Ingres Protection followed by two numbers.
The first number tells you how well sealed the LED light bar is against solid objects aswell as the protection it gives you against the dangerous internal parts.
The second number lets you know how well sealed the unit is against liquid protection.
